John Atakpa

Project Technical Manager

John brings a wealth of experience in sustainable energy solutions, project management, and engineering with a strong focus on bridging energy divides in underserved markets. He holds an M.Phil. in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering with honors.

John has worked at global firms like Arup, Baker Hughes, and Canon, leading projects that spanned the Energy, Technology, and Climate sectors. At Baker Hughes, he drove energy infrastructure expansion across Africa including Geothermal projects. His work at Canon, leading compliance with EU regulations, complements his current focus on energy development. As a member of the IEEE Climate and Sustainability Task Force and contributor to UNECE’s focus groups on Resilient Energy Systems, John is actively shaping global sustainability strategies.

Certified as a PMP, PROSCI Change Management Professional, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, John specializes in developing innovative, cost-effective solutions that have lasting positive impacts for businesses and communities.
