Richard Stanford

Principal, Chief Technical Officer

Richard has an Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stellenbosch University in South Africa. He has over 12 years’ experience in African renewable energy and has worked on projects across the entire continent. Before joining CrossBoundary, he was the Uganda Country Manager for Cambridge Clean Energy responsible for development, implementation and operational management of power projects as well as general management of the Uganda office. Prior to moving to Uganda, Richard worked for Arup Engineering Consultants in South Africa providing technical advisory services for utility and commercial scale solar projects. During this time, Richard was also part of the South African Photovoltaic Industry Association (SAPVIA) Rooftop PV Subcommittee and contributed to the South African Solar Energy Technology Roadmap (SETRM) as a technical specialist contributor for PV. Richard joined CrossBoundary Energy in September 2016 and is the Chief Technical Officer based in CrossBoundary’s Nairobi office.
