CrossBoundary Energy has been awarded ‘African Solar Company of the Year’ by the Africa Solar Industry Association (AFSIA) at its 2025 awards ceremony, recognizing the company’s commitment to advancing solar energy at scale for African industries.

The recognition comes following a year of significant achievements for the distributed renewable energy utility. Notable milestones include signing one of the largest solar PV/BESS baseload facilities in sub-Saharan Africa and commencing construction on Madagascar’s first wind farm under challenging operating conditions.

CrossBoundary Energy also completed phase two of its solar PV project in Madagascar, launching an agrivoltaics initiative that delivers benefits to local communities. In Sierra Leone, the company enabled the deployment of the country’s first 5G network by providing solar and battery power solutions for telecommunications towers. Additionally, CrossBoundary Energy licensed and built Kenya’s first solar-to-charging station for electric two-wheelers.

This award underscores CrossBoundary Energy’s leadership in delivering innovative, clean energy solutions that support business growth and sustainable development across Africa.
